What Went Wrong

Bigbucks was founded and built on a promise of fair-trade coffee sourcing by purchasing directly from small farmers rather than large wholesalers with undocumented labor practices. It's been found recently that some of our coffee beans did come from larger wholesalers and more disturbingly that some of our own people knew about it and didn't report anything. In order to proceed and fix these issues that needs to be acknowledged. Our customers paid a premium price for our coffee partly due to our fair-trade promise made at the start of our company and we've broken that trust.

What We're Doing About It

We're not just going to ask you to take our word for it. We are implementing auditing procedures across our entire supplier network with verifiable results make public through a dashboard so customers, investors, and reports alike can verify our fair-trade compliance for themselves. We are also scrutinizing farmer contracts and our relationships with them for their commitment to fair-trade. Lastly, we are putting into place a channel for employees to report any issues, so they no longer feel conflicted between job security and staying quiet when problems arise.
